I'm about to start a new series of illustrations featuring, you guessed it, profiles. So thought stretching those drawing-muscles would help.
This is just about the first time I've done profile studies with references, and man, I mightily wish I had done it sooner. Profiles are so COOOOL! Something about the angles and personality of shapes and ease of not drawing the other side is dazzling. Hand! Prepare to draw profiles in literally every drawing from now on!

These are great. And I agree, there's something really fun about drawing profiles, and I think it IS because you don't have to be symmetrical. Plus expression work is always fun!
